During their marriage, Janice and Don lived and worked in many communities. (Master of Science in Teaching Theology) from the Aquinas Institute, then located in Dubuque, Iowa. In 1950 Sister Ana Maria returned to Puerto Rico where she served first as a nursing assistant and then for many years in elementary education.  From 1988-1993, she ministered to the elderly. After this she returned to teaching. She prepared the Medicine Program students who were in training to work for AHRC. Her interment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood. 52nd year of her religious life in the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood. Her ministries included: St. James (1948-1951); Holy Name (1951-1953); Nativity of Our Blessed Lord, (1953); St. John the Evangelist (1953-1954); St. Anthony (1954-1958) all Brooklyn; Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Long Island City (1958-1960); She also earned an MA in Pastoral Ministry from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington and a Certification in Gerontology  from St. Josephâs College. She also taught elementary school in Dubuque, Iowa; Chicago and Maywood, Ill.; Casper, Wyo. She was born to Paul and Bernadette Jones on March 13, 1951 and was baptized at St. Angela Merici Church in the Bronx. She earned a BA degree in St. Johnâs University and an MS in Administration/Supervision from Fordham University. They made their home in the Churdan area and raised three children together, Shawn, Shane and Shannon. The following is a list of notable deaths in July 2013.. Sister Margaret served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Peter of Alcantara Elementary School in Port Washington from 1956 to 1964; St. Monica Elementary School from 1964 to 1967; Cathedral Elementary School in Raleigh, NC, from 1967 to 1969 both in Raleigh, NC, ; Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary School in Inwood from 1969 to 1970; Monsignor McHugh Elementary School in Cresco, PA, from 1970 to 1971; Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School in Rocky Mount, NC, from 1974 to 1976; and St. Patrick Elementary School in Oneida, NY, from 1976 to 1977. Her ministries included: Queen of All Saints, Brooklyn (1960-1962); St. Teresa of Avila, Brooklyn (1962-1965); Our Lady of Good Counsel, Brooklyn (1965-1975); Catholic Charities, Brooklyn (1975-1977); St. Gabriel, Brooklyn (1977-1993); and Presentation of the BVM parish, Jamaica (1933). She was the daughter of the late George L. and Ann Mahon Shevlin.  On February 2, 1945, she was accepted as a candidate to the Dominican Congregation and on August 6, 1945, she received the Dominican habit and the name Sister Mary Conrad. She was in the 80th year of her religious life. She also taught in schools in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Poughkeepsie and New York City. On August 7, 1944, she pronounced first vows and was assigned to teach at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lindenhurst. and went on to Molloy College where she earned a BS in Education and later a BSN in nursing. She then retired in 2013. Sister Anne was predeceased by her sister, Sister Anne Gillen, OP, another sister and brothers. Survivors include her nieces, nephew, and extended family member. She dedicated several hours a day to teaching adults and children to care for and ride horses. Most of the parishioners were refugees who had fled from Guangdong. She served on numerous boards of trustees. She was organizational consultant and director of the Women & Spirit: Catholic Sisters in America exhibit. After receiving her B.A.  He served the Diocese of Brooklyn as Pastor of St. Columba (Brooklyn), St. Andrew the Apostle (Brooklyn) and as Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph (Long Island City), St. Andrew (Flushing) and Holy Family (Flushing). She professed first vows on March 19, 1940, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1945. After graduating from Washington Irving H.S., Eva worked for five years, first as a seamstress and then as a secretary at Sterling Pharmaceutical Company. She entered the Congregation from the parish of Our Lady of Victory, Floral Park in 1957. Upon her retirement from teaching, Sr. Rita volunteered at a local radio station one evening a week to read the local news for people who were blind. She served as the Provincial Superior of the Sisters of Charity from 1970-78 while residing at the Provincial Residence in Brooklyn and Jamaica, NY. In her 59 years of Religious Life, Sister Catherine worked in hospitals, health centers and parishes in Venezuela, Jordan, the United States and Peru. She also served in leadership for her worldwide community for five years. She was given the Adult Sportsmanship Award from the Iowa Quarter Horse Association for her generosity towards families and children in the horse industry. She was then interred in Calvary Cemetery there. She entered the novitiate at Amityville on September 8, 1945 and received the habit and her religious name, Sister Mary Arnold, on August 4, 1946. She held memberships and made conference presentations at several learned societies which included the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAA), the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). From 2009 until the time of her death, Sister Maria del Rey served as a prayer minister at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton. Patricia was born in Brooklyn on May 27, 1931 to Patrick and Frieda Barry. As a Master Teacher at St. Joseph College for over 40 years she helped educate thousands. Interment followed at St. Catherineâs Cemetery in Moscow, PA. Sister Mary Clare Kolczynski died on April 23, 2016. She pronounced her vows of poverty, chastity and obedience on August 8, 1957. During 1980, as a member of Maryknollâs U.S. Her wake and Mass of Christian Burial were held in St. Joseph Renewal Center/Chapel January 15-16, 2018 followed by her interment in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
